Today, I had lunch with an old friend. We chatted about our current situations and our "vision" in a couple of years. We used "vision" as "Plan" would entail much more details and would be too cumbersome.
Anyhow, I realised no matter how we tried (at least I tried) to keep things as they are, to continue to do things as we used to. We are still unwittingly, moving away into different grounds. People around us have changed, their priorities are different from say 5 years ago, and ours too. Even if we inspire to continue to enjoy certain lifestyle, we realised we are left very much behind. Where did all the time go?
I have been working for 8 years now. It dawned upon me that those good old Uni days are far gone. Whether I care to admit or not, I am in a totally different stage of my life. I am still trying to figure out which stage that is, but I think it is the one that starts with M - maturity. What does it all mean and imply? What will I have to lose? and what will I gain besides the ever increasing waistline :)
Perhaps it is why people there may be sudden behavioural change in people as they may be feeling lost and possibly unclear what is lying ahead. Some may look back and wonder what have they done with their lives and realised that it has not been what they want and desire. And they pull the brake and do an about turn in their lives.
I had wanted to pull those brakes myself. I had allowed things to change... and now I wonder if I will pull those brakes again in time to come. Well, perhaps, I have to get moving with my "vision"... though I am not sure that is what I want...
